About this place
Descend into the basement of the Kitamachi Building near Tobu-Nerima Station and you will find Bar so-ma, a neighbourhood spot for draught craft beer. Alongside Kirin Heartland as a familiar tap staple, the keg lines rotate daily through a wide variety of craft styles. If you are undecided on a pour, the tasting flight lets you sample 3 different beers of your choice, served in 170 ml glasses so you can compare aromas and flavours side by side.
The food menu offers plenty of grazing options between drinks, with cheese pairings matched to individual pours—such as French Munster intended for a porter or Scottish Laphroaig cheddar selected with whisky in mind. Arriving early makes happy hour particularly appealing, with sets matching beer to house pâté, mixed nuts, or pizza toast. Beyond beer, the bar keeps a broad selection of wine, whisky, cocktails, and spirits like gin.
Soft music sets a comfortable tone throughout the room, creating an easygoing ambience where solo visitors feel right at home at the counter or tables. Doors open at 17:30 in the evening, with hours extending until 3:00 late night on Fridays and Saturdays, making it an easy drop-in whether you want a quick drink after work or a late-night nightcap.
